Airloy® X134 Medium-Temperature Strong Aerogel Tiles
$90
Airloy® X134 series materials from Aerogel Technologies are the world’s first commercially-available polyurethane aerogels with the strength to stand up to real-world applications. Airloy X134 comes in densities up to three times lighter than plastics and is a great alternative to Airloy X103 where higher temperatures are required. (Airloy X103 is somewhat stronger and stiffer at comparable density, however limited to 80°C). Resistant to contact with moisture and liquid water. Dust-free. Machinable and adherable. Thermally superinsulating with a conductivity between classic silica aerogels and Styrofoam®. Maximum operating temperature is ~150°C. Color is light pink. Dimensions are approximately 2″ x 3″ x 0.3″ (5 cm x 7.5 cm x 0.7 cm).
This product is no longer unavailable. As an alternative, you may want to consider our Airloy X116 for your high temperature applications, or Airloy X103 for high strength applications.
Download the Material SDS here.
Large Airloy X134 panels are also available for making bigger engineering parts.
For operating temperatures up to 300°C, choose Airloy X116 or Airloy X114 instead.
Airloys are sold by density. Properties such as strength and stiffness increase with increasing density, while thermal conductivity decreases with decreasing density. Airloy X134 properties for available densities are approximately as follows:
Density Class | Density | Compressive Strengtha | Compressive Modulusa | Operating Temperaturea | Thermal Conductivitya |
MH | 0.34 ± 0.02 g/cc | 3.6 MPa | 67.5 MPa | ~150°C | 40.8 mW/m-K |
aApproximate values. For reference only.
Densities currently available for Airloy X134 are shown in the section above. Materials available for online purchase are listed above. Additional densities and sizes coming soon and available by request.
Quantity discounts available:
